Many times in life I find inspiritation from the strangest things. It reminds me of one of my favorite movies. It stars Robin Williams (One of my favorite actors) and it is named "The World According to Garp". I saw the movie as a kid and it stuck with me until today. I still watch it at random intervals. T.S. Garp wants to be a writer. He, along with his mother move to New York to get some life experience.
Now, here is the part that describes my writings as well as Garp's. He's walking down a New York street, he observes two people arguing. In the distance there is a piano being lowered from an apartment and suddenly it falls. As all this is happening, on the same block one right after the other. And he finds a single black glove on the sidewalk. This leads to a story. He sees it come together in moments.
And, my friends, that is how I write. I find inspiritation all around me. As silly as it sounds, the world is my art canvas! The things that I write about, are imagination. A walk amongst a crowd of people constantly gives me ideas. I write based on the things that observe in life.
I've always seen life that way, my wife says that I'm a people watcher; not in a creepy way! I walk about just making things up as I go along. But isn't that what we all do?
Oh, and the picture. That's me as "Charming Prince Cad". Yep, red tights and what looks like a powder blue diaper. That was fun!
