When we have had enough, we will speak up and make a big deal about us walking away with our dignity. Most often, though, we physically walk away but hold on to those memories. The memories that will continue to draw us back over those moments (the good and the bad). We access those memories and they make us feel regret, anger, sorrow, and so much more.
So, we haven't really let it go, have we? No. We have to turn, walk away, and let it go completely. Going over it is like peeling a scab. An ugly and painful process that leaves a much bigger scar each time we do it. Learn to, then, leave it behind you. Don't give it energy by looking over your shoulder! Continue on the path that you have chosen. Your heart and mind will rest easier over time.
