Find Happiness Wherever You Roam

As I walk my dog along the street in our neighborhood, I look at the yards. All well manicured, as the Fall is now among us, there are some Halloween decorations and leaves blow across the yards. I think to myself, what have I come to?  Almost to my mid-fifties, pain wakes me every morning, pain and dizziness  push me through my day. I still search for something, a new thing. An idea that will take me to the next day.

And what awaits me on the next day? Will I see the next day? As you grow older, that is literally a clear thought. When you are young, you find that the thought of your eventual demise rarely crossing your mind. In your mid-twenties, you feel indestructible. You believe that the world is your oyster, and you will have plenty of time to enjoy it.

But, at almost fifty-four, I hope to see many more mornings, many more evenings, and hold my wife's hand as we watch sunsets. So, wherever I roam in this wide world, I will look forward to all of the moments that I still have. Moment after moment... Step after step. Yes, wherever you roam enjoy the moments as they tick by.
